On March 11 and 12, 2025, the second edition of the “ECoMAR in Focus” workshop took place. The event provided a space for debates on new strategies and research perspectives aimed at conserving our oceans.

Event Highlights

During the workshop, crucial issues were addressed, such as the need for systematic and long-term monitoring of the marine mammal populations studied, improving the use of innovative and non-invasive technologies and advancing analysis on a global scale associated with climate change. The discussions also highlighted the need to integrate scientific knowledge with traditional knowledge and environmental education in order to promote solutions that benefit both the environment and coastal populations.

The “ECoMAR in Focus” workshop reaffirmed the commitment to finding innovative solutions in lines of research that ensure ocean conservation, and also in study strategies for top marine predators, highlighting the importance of collaborative actions with various partners.
